Shirts
What brands are the shirts printed on?
Archivalry normally prints on American Apparel shirts, which are made in a sweatshop-free factory in Downtown Los Angeles, U.S. We like that they employ thousands of workers here in the states, providing progressive benefits packages — plus, they also promote environmentally-friendly practices.
Which size should I order?
Each t-shirt design includes a sizing chart on its detail page. We typically include notes describing the fit of each design, helping you choose the size that will fit you best.
Where are Archivalry’s shirts printed?
We leave the printing to the professionals so we can concentrate on design. Sanctuary Screenprinting is our screenprinter of choice — their production team is made up of homeless and street involved youth enrolled in pre-employment training internships. This program teaches the youth specific vocational skills necessary to become employable in the mainstream workforce. Because they’re a non-profit entity, their proceeds go directly toward supporting various programs for at-risk youth.
How should I wash and care for my shirt?
Of course, you should always follow the instructions included on the care label. But, in general, machine wash the shirt inside out with cold water, and then tumble dry on low. Or, better yet, hang and air dry your shirts — you’ll save precious natural resources and prevent shrinking at the same time!
Will the printed design fade?
Although we target to use the highest quality shirts and printing processes, the printing will fade somewhat over time as the shirt’s fibers show through the ink. You can prevent some of this by washing your shirts inside out. Honestly though, we feel that a well-worn shirt is a badge of honor — it’s like an old friend with plenty of great stories to tell.

How do you pronounce Archivalry?
Our name uses “Archive” (more accurately “Archival”) as its root, so you simply begin with “archival” and add on a “-ry” at the end. Or, using pronunciation symbols: är-ˈkī-vəl-rē.
